Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know, from your first enquiry to your wedding day.

We don't work to a flat rate, because no two wedding mornings are the same. Your figure depends on the real shape of your day: the size of your bridal party, where your venue sits and the travel it takes to get there, whether you include a trial, and the mix of hair, makeup, nails, and spray tan you choose. We build every package around your specific morning and put it into one clear, personalised proposal, so the price reflects your day rather than an average of everyone else's. For couples who want a calm, on-time morning handled by a trusted team, tell us about your day and we will send a tailored quote.
The earlier the better. Most of our couples book six to twelve months ahead, and popular dates in spring and autumn often go a year or more in advance. Because we hold one team per wedding morning, dates are first in, best dressed. If your wedding is sooner, still get in touch. We will always tell you honestly what is available rather than overstretch the morning.
Yes, travel is part of what we do. We are a premium mobile team and we come to you across Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Hunter Valley, the Southern Highlands, and regional NSW. Vineyard, estate, and country-property venues are where our planning matters most, with early starts and longer mornings. Travel is quoted per artist and confirmed in your proposal, so the figure is clear before you book.
As a guide, allow around 45 minutes to an hour per person for hair and the same for makeup, with the bride given a little more time. Your exact finish time depends on party size and the looks you choose. We build a runsheet for your specific morning and bring enough artists to hold that timeline, so the day runs calmly and you are camera-ready well before you need to leave.
Yes. A trial is a design consultation where we settle your style direction, test product suitability for your skin and hair, and make sure the look works for your day. We recommend booking it about four weeks before your wedding, close enough that your hair length and skin are similar, with time to refine. If anything does not feel right, we would far rather adjust at the trial than on the morning.
Yes, large parties are a strength of ours. Our house is more than ten specialist artists, six of them trained in both hair and makeup, so we can place a full team in your getting-ready room and keep the morning to time. A bigger party does not mean a longer, more stressful start. It means more skilled hands working to one standard, so everyone is ready together and the energy stays calm.
Both, and more. We are a one-stop bridal beauty house: hair, makeup, nails, and spray tan, all under one trusted team. That means fewer vendors in your room on the morning, one runsheet, and one point of contact. Six of our artists are dual-qualified in hair and makeup, so your look is cohesive from start to finish rather than handed between separate suppliers.
Your wedding date is secured only once we receive your signed proposal and your Booking Fee (50% of the total package price, inclusive of GST). Until the Booking Fee is received, your date remains available to other clients without any obligation to you. The Booking Fee is not a deposit; it covers the work we commence immediately, including proposal preparation, date reservation, client file setup, artist scheduling, and runsheet planning.
The Booking Fee is non-refundable, except to the extent required by the Australian Consumer Law. It covers real work and real costs we incur from the moment you book, including declining other enquiries for your date, setting up your file, assigning your artist team, and commencing your runsheet and logistics planning. If you cancel more than 90 days before your wedding date, the Booking Fee is forfeited and no further amount is payable. If you cancel within 90 days, the full package price is payable, as this reflects the genuine loss we suffer at that stage.
The remaining balance of your package price is due 14 days before your wedding date. Services will not proceed without cleared payment of the full balance by this due date. All prices are inclusive of GST.
All cancellations must be in writing to hello@jessicavegas.com. If you cancel more than 90 days before your wedding date, your Booking Fee is forfeited and no further amount is payable. If you cancel within 90 days of your wedding date, the full package price is payable. This reflects the genuine business loss we incur, including completed runsheet planning, artist time that has been committed and is difficult to reallocate at short notice, and the opportunity cost of declining other bookings for that date. Where we are able to reasonably reduce our loss (for example, by accepting a comparable booking for the same date), we will take that into account to the extent required by law.
Changes to bridal party numbers or services must be confirmed in writing at least 14 days before your wedding date. Additions are subject to artist availability and will be quoted separately. Reductions in bridal party numbers within 30 days of the wedding do not reduce the total amount payable, as artist allocations and scheduling cannot be reversed at short notice.
Your bridal trial is a design consultation to determine style direction, product suitability, and overall feasibility. We recommend completing your trial at least 4 weeks before your wedding. A trial is not a guarantee of identical results on the day. Final results may vary due to factors including your skin condition, hair type and texture, weather, humidity, lighting, and available time within the schedule. Our artists use professional judgement to deliver the best achievable result within your conditions on the day. If anything at the trial doesn't feel right, speak up; we would far rather adjust at the trial than the morning.
Our artists are scheduled to complete services by the agreed finish time in your runsheet. Overtime applies where the agreed finish time is exceeded due to circumstances outside our control, including late arrivals, unprepared hair or skin, requests for additional services or significant changes to the agreed look on the day, venue or access delays, schedule changes, or interruptions. Overtime is charged at $15 per 15-minute block or part thereof, per artist, payable immediately on completion. Overtime is also subject to artist availability; we cannot guarantee our artists can stay beyond their scheduled finish time.
All members of the bridal party should arrive with clean, dry hair and a bare, moisturised face (no foundation, tinted moisturiser, or heavy skincare). Wet, dirty, or product-laden hair, or skin that requires cleansing before we can begin, may result in a preparation surcharge of $55 (inc GST) per person where additional preparation time is required. It can also mean a simplified look being delivered if time does not permit the full service. We are not responsible for a reduced or simplified outcome caused by late arrivals or unpreparedness. Your Bridal Prep Guide covers exactly how to arrive on both your trial and wedding morning.
Yes. You are responsible for providing a suitable workspace: indoors, well-lit, clean, ventilated, with access to at least one power outlet per artist, a firm stable chair, and a clean work surface. Services are not performed in bathrooms, wet areas, outdoor spaces (unless under substantial permanent covered structures), cramped spaces, or areas with inadequate lighting. Please disclose any access limitations (stairs, narrow corridors, restricted parking) in advance. Our artists carry equipment up a maximum of two flights of straight stairs; spiral or narrow staircases are not suitable for kit transport.
Please disclose any known allergies, sensitivities, skin conditions, recent cosmetic treatments, or contraindications at the time of booking and at least 14 days before your service date. We use professional-grade products and can work around most sensitivities, but we need time to check our kit and source alternatives if needed. If you or a bridal party member has had a facial or medical treatment within 7 days of the service date, a doctor's clearance may be required. We are not liable for adverse reactions where relevant conditions were not disclosed in advance.
Minor adjustments (a slightly different lip shade, a few more curls, a softer eye) are absolutely part of what the morning is for. Major changes are different. Switching from an updo to full loose hair, or a completely different makeup direction, affects the entire timeline and may not be achievable within the scheduled time. If the agreed finish time is exceeded as a result, overtime charges apply. If you're having second thoughts after your trial, please contact us before the wedding day; the earlier we know, the more we can plan.
Any concerns or adjustments must be raised immediately with your attending artist before they move on to the next client or pack up their kit. We will make reasonable adjustments where time permits. We are not responsible for dissatisfaction raised after services are complete, after our artists have left the venue, or after the look has been interfered with or adjusted. If you have a concern after your service date, please contact us in writing at hello@jessicavegas.com within 7 days and we will act in good faith to review and, where appropriate, resolve the matter.
We accept all major payment methods via Shopify, including credit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Your Booking Fee (50%) is required to confirm your booking, with the remaining balance due 14 days before your wedding date.
Yes. Travel fees apply to wedding locations beyond 20km from our studio and are quoted on a per-artist basis. Travel fees reflect the full cost of travel, including distance, artist travel time (which is non-billable time), and the operational cost of deploying artists. Travel fees are included in your proposal and confirmed before booking. For regional, interstate, or destination weddings requiring overnight travel, accommodation must be arranged and covered by you. Parking at or near the venue must be provided at no cost to our artists.
