“WOW. That is honestly the only word I have for Jess and her incredible HMU team. I was so new to the whole experience of professional hair and makeup that I didn't know what “HMU” stood for when I first saw it on the run sheet. I had hair and makeup for five family members at my mum’s place on the day. Everyone loved the relaxed at home getting ready session and were obsessed with their looks. Please pass on our gratitude to Jessie and Jill. They absolutely nailed it across different complexions, skin types, and hair textures. From the moment I met Jess at my trial, we connected instantly and could not stop chatting. It felt completely effortless and helped me relax straight away. Watching the process come to life was amazing. She truly has magical hands and a great eye for detail. She is also very open to feedback and happy to adjust things until everything feels perfect. After the trial we stayed in touch about how to keep my hair and skin in good condition in the week leading up to the wedding, and that advice was invaluable. Then came the wedding day at Chapel Hill (Berambing). Seeing Jess immediately put my mind at ease. She creates such a calm and safe space and always has a warm smile. I decided to get ready alone, and she even helped me with my dress which meant so much in that moment. Watching her work with the flower girls was also beautiful - they absolutely loved the experience. Honestly, I struggled to write this review because it is hard to put into words just how wonderful Jess was. She was one of the best investments we made for the wedding. The hair and makeup held up perfectly through a very emotional day. I cried through the vows and speeches, and was later headbanging to Tool on the dance floor, and everything still looked amazing in the photos. But more than that, it is very rare to meet someone who is such a genuine and beautiful soul, and someone who simply gets you. Thank you so much Jess. I truly hope we stay in touch!
